Initiative of Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Foundation, a CSR Arm of REC Limited, Ministry of Power, Govt of India along with Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF) and Department of Child Rights, Govt of Rajasthan for Infrastructure Development in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) of Rajasthan

REC Foundation is an initiative of REC Limited which is one of the leading Public Sector Enterprises of Govt of India under administrative control of Ministry of Power, is desirous of undertaking the project in accordance with REC Policy on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aligned with companies Act, 2013.

The Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Cluster (JCKIC) is an initiative of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India on the recommendation of the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council to create an Atmanirbhar Bharat through Science & Technology. Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF), is a Section-8 company (Non-Profit Organization) established on 31st March, 2021 under the Companies Act 2013 to carry out and sustain the activities of JCKIC.

The Department of Child Rights was established by Govt. of Rajasthan vide notification dated 17th May 2013 to reiterate its commitment to the protection of rights of children, embarked upon setting out a clear vision, mission and mandate of the Dept. of Child Rights.

The initiative aims to achieve development and child protection priorities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. It lays emphasis on child rights, advocacy and awareness along the motto of ‘leave no child behind’. Supporting the infrastructure development and facilities in Children Care Institutions (CCIs) will give better access of facilities and infrastructure to children.

RECF sanctioned financial assistance under CSR to JCKIF for the project- providing 760 School dual desk benches, 950 Bunk beds, 3800 rPET T-Shirts made from plastic waste to 38 Government CCIs in Rajasthan. The CCIs are identified by the Dept of Child Rights, Govt of Rajasthan. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between REC Foundation and JCKIF, IIT Jodhpur for its implementation.
