Visit of staff of National Skill Development Corporation
Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF) and Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur (IITJ) are jointly implementing the short-term skill development training programme under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) 4.0. This is a free training and certification programme to enable Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them secure a better livelihood. Under this programme, four courses have been initiated viz. Electronics Machine Maintenance Executive (450 hours); Solar Panel Installation Technician (450 hours); Solar LED Technician (450 hours) and Electronic Hardware Assembly Operator (300 hours). The program was launched on 1st November, 2023. Currently there are around 100 students.
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) technical team members namely Ms Swati Singh, Deputy General Manager - Operations, and Mr Abhishek, technical team member visited IITJ and JCKIF on 4th November, 2023.
There was an interaction session at JCKIF office where Dr Ajay Agarwal Professor at IIT Jodhpur, Dr G S Toteja, CEO, JCKIF, Ms Deboshree Acharya Ganguly, CEP officer, IITJ, Mrs Mamta Sharma, Program Manager, JCKIF and Mr Gajraj Sharma, Technical Superintendent, EE Department, IITJ participated.
The team had discussion on ongoing activities, progress achieved and various challenges being faced. The team also visited the training center classes, labs and had an interaction with trainees and the trainers.
