Initiatives taken
Masters in Medical Technologies and Ph D program (MMT) joint degree Masters, PhD and Master-PhD programmes in Medical Technologies by IIT Jodhpur and AIIMS Jodhpur which aims to provide a common platform for doctors and engineers fostering knowledge sharing and innovation leading to development of indigenous healthcare devices and systems through the process of incubation and entrepreneurship.
Deep-Tech Biodesign Centre -A Multi-disciplinary centre to train, nurture and transform clinicians and engineers into the Deep-Tech innovators in the field of Medical/Healthcare Technology has been setup in IIT Jodhpur with financial support from DBT, Govt. of India for further strengthening the deep-tech medical technology initiative.
BioNEST (Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling up Technologies)incubation centre has already been established to promote / support entrepreneurship in Healthcare / Medtech/ agrotech/ pharma segment and allied areas. “First in Rajasthan”
Development of potential therapeutic leads for Duchenne muscular dystrophy for clinical trial
The cluster is working towards development of cost-effective therapeutic leads and social awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy disease.
Piloting an AIoT-based bed occupancy detection in a hospital setup
An AIOT based bed occupancy detection system in a hospital setup has been designed under auspices of JCKIF as a useful device for managing inventory of hospital beds.
AYUR-Tech: A unique initiative for integrative medicine for Rajasthan
combines Electronics, Digital health and AI and multi-omics approaches for realizing “Evidence based Ayurveda” solutions in a transdisciplinary framework

Cluster is working with State government agencies, Academia, Administration to establish a full-fledged Medical Device Park in the region.
Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO), Govt. of Rajasthan and Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF) has signed a MoU for the Development of a Medical Devices Park in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A world class common facility centre on 15-acre area has been planned in Park.
